Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
This policy explains how FranReal LLC(“Yluminate”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information. It has two parts, and they are different in kind:
- Part A — information about you, our customer, when you use the Service.
- Part B — personal information about individuals contained in the FDD corpus, which we make available to customers for a fee. If you are a franchise owner and you are here because your details appear in our data, Part B is the part you want.
1. Part A — Information we collect about you
- Account information — your email address, password, and the company and segment you give us at sign-up.
- Query and usage information — the questions you ask, the SQL generated, result and export volumes, credit balance and consumption, and standard log data such as IP address, browser, and timestamps.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers; we receive limited billing details such as the card brand, last four digits, and transaction status.
2. Part A — How we use it
- to operate the Service, run your queries, and meter credits and exports;
- to maintain an audit record of queries and exports, which we also rely on to investigate misuse of contact data;
- to send transactional messages such as receipts and service notices, and product updates you can opt out of;
- to provide support; and
- to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents, and to comply with law.
3. Part A — How we share it
We do not sell information about our customers. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf — cloud hosting and database providers, our payment processor, our email provider, and the model provider that translates your question into a query — and with legal or safety recipients where required, or in connection with a merger or sale of assets subject to this policy.
Your questions are sent to a third-party AI provider to generate the query. Do not put confidential information into a question.
4. Part A — Retention, security, and your choices
We keep account and audit records for as long as your account is active and afterwards as needed to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards; no system is perfectly secure. You can access or correct your account information, opt out of marketing email, and ask us to delete your account data by writing to support@franreal.com.
5. Part B — Personal information in the FDD corpus
Franchisors are required to file Franchise Disclosure Documents, and those filings — in particular the franchisee lists in Item 20 and their exhibits — identify franchise owners. Our corpus therefore contains personal information about individuals, and we make it queryable and exportable by our customers.
The categories are:
- Identifiers — first and last name, co-owner names, business entity name.
- Contact information — email address and telephone number.
- Commercial and location information — brand affiliation, outlet city and state, and the filing year the record came from.
Sources. Publicly filed FDDs and related public records. We do not collect this information from the individuals themselves, and we have no direct relationship with them. We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or other sensitive personal information as defined by California law.
6. Part B — We sell this information
Stated plainly, because the law requires it to be: customers pay us per exported row, and rows containing the contact information described above are priced accordingly. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and under comparable laws in other states, that constitutes a “sale” of personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Who buys it. Our customers are businesses — venture and private-equity investors, franchise suppliers, and franchisors — who use it for research, diligence, and business development. Our Terms require them to have their own lawful basis for contacting anyone, to comply with CAN-SPAM, the TCPA, and applicable privacy laws, and to honour opt-out and deletion requests they receive.
Purpose. To provide the research and data service described on this site. We retain records for as long as the corresponding filings remain part of the corpus, and remove individual records on request as described below.
7. Part B — Your rights, if your information is in the corpus
Depending on where you live — California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and a growing number of other states grant these — you may have the right to:
- Know and access what personal information we hold about you, and its source;
- Delete it;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Opt out of its sale or sharing; and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
You do not need an account, and you do not need to be a customer. Use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or write to support@franreal.com. An authorised agent may act for you with written permission. We honour Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser as an opt-out of sale for that browser.
We will verify a request by matching the details you give us against the record. We respond within 45 days and may extend once where permitted. Removing a record from the corpus does not retrieve copies a customer exported before your request; we will tell you if your record was exported and pass your request on where we can.
8. Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in.
9. Children
The Service is for business users and is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Where we operate
We operate in the United States and process and store information on servers located there. If you use the Service from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws differ from those where you live.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy; we will revise the date above and, for material changes, give additional notice. Questions or requests: support@franreal.com. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona.
